The 9300ES holding brake (BRK) function and switching of the brake output in case of low voltage (LU) or overvoltage (OU) differs from the one of the 9300EK

Which products are affected?
9300EP position controller <= V6.2

What happens?
In case of the 9300EP the BRK-OUT brake output is set together with DCTRL-CINH (controller inhibit) in case of a LU / OU   message (low voltage or overvoltage). The setting is not executed before the message has already been pending for a period of 500 ms at least.
In case of the 9300ES (servo) and 9300EK (cam profiler) the BRK-OUT output is set immediately in case of a LU / OU message. Only the DCTRL-CINH is triggered with a delay of 500 ms.

When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if a low voltage or overvoltage message (LU, OU) is indicated.

Possible diagnostics?
Make an oscilloscope track of the DCTRL-IMP and BRK-OUT signals in order to check how much time is required until the brake is applied in case of low voltage.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
If necessary use the function block interconnection in order to trigger the brake immediately in case of OU or LU.

Evaluation:
If required, the time required to trigger the brake can be shortened by applying the remedial measures mentioned above. If it is actually required to shorten the time required to trigger the brake is detected by the tests executed during commissioning.
