¨InvalidProfileData¨ error during manual homing

Which products are affected?
Software Package Positioner V3.3
Positioner template

What happens?
When the 'ManualJog' state is activated, the drive does not move and the profile generator state signals via g_nPosProfilerState = -310 (InvalidProfileDistance) that the distance to be traversed in direction of travel until the software limit is reached exceeds 2^31 increments.

When does the problem occur?
If in the 'ManualJog' state the distance between the current position and the software limit in traversing direction exceeds 2^31 increments, the drive stops and the error message mentioned above is indicated.

Possible diagnostics?
In 'ManualJog' mode the drive can only be moved in one direction. In reverse direction the drive stops and the profile generator indicates the 'InvalidProfileDistance' state.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
This borderline case can be prevented by a simple adjustment of the machine parameters if the application requirements allow this. The adjustment must be made in such a way that the internal distance between the positive and negative software limit position does not exceed 2,140,000,000 increments. The conversion of the limit positions from units to increments is documented in the corresponding Manuals.

Evaluation:
Machine parameters in case of which the problem occurs are quite rare in real applications. The response to the problem is not critical since the drive stops and indicates a conflict.
