TouchProbe positioning

Which products are affected?

ESP-SP-POS - Software Package Positioner V3.1

Applications

Starting a positioning process with defined residual travel position when the machine component passes a sensor mark.

Function description

Using this template function, the drive can be moved to specific points in various positioning modes by specifying linear movement profiles. If the machine component passes a sensor mark (TouchProbe) during the positioning, that is it detects a TouchProbe, then the drive automatically changes from the current profile to the profile for the residual travel positioning.

The digital inputs supported by the PLC platform operating system can be used for the TouchProbe signal. The TP signal can be blanked in specific position ranges and reacts to positive or negative signal edges.

During the preparation of the program using DDS, you can define in a dialog box which digital inputs on the device are to trigger a TouchProbe process. If a digital input is used as a TouchProbe input, this input is no longer available as a task interrupt.
