I x t monitoring on design with 120 % overload

Question:

Why does the EVF9300 (vector/hoist) drive controller indicates OC5-warning?

Answer:

The utilisation of the controller is given by the mean value of the motor current over a sampling period of 180 s. An utilisation of 100 % is achieved if the controller delivers the continuous current for 150 % overload as per the ratings at the chopping frequency set (e.g. IN8 at 8 kHz). C0064 displays the momentary utilisation.
As on design with 120 % overload C0064 rises above 100 %, the OC5 monitoring is prioritised to warning. The controller is monitored by sampling the heat sink temperature (OH-TRIP cannot be changed at 85 °C).
The warning OC5 is to be ignored in a design with 120 % overload.
At C0064 ≥ 140 % the chopping frequency is reduced (prerequisite: C0018 = 0 or 6) and the maximum current limited to the continuous output current (Imax = INX). The chopping frequency and maximum current reduction is lifted when C0064 ≤ 95 % is reached.
