Fans - thresholds for switching, 9300 and ECS - what types are fitted with a fan?

Question:
What types of the 9300 drive controllers and the ECS servo system are fitted with a fan?
Under what circumstances are the fans activated?

Answer:

ECS servo system:
The types of the ECS devices fitted with a fan can be taken from the following table:

        Device                                                     Heatsink fan       Internal fan
       ECS supply module  ECSEE012.................yes..................no
       ECS supply module  ECSEE020.................yes..................no
       ECS supply module  ECSEE040.................yes..................no
ECS supply module  ECSDExxx.................no............... ....no     (push-through technique)
ECS supply module  ECSCExxx.................no............... ....no     (cold plate)

        ECS axis module  ECSEA004 (S,P,M)........no....................no
       ECS axis module  ECSEA008 (S,P,M)........yes..................no
       ECS axis module  ECSEA016 (S,P,M)........yes..................no
       ECS axis module  ECSEA032 (S,P,M)........yes..................no
       ECS axis module  ECSEA048 (S,P,M)........yes..................no
       ECS axis module  ECSEA064 (S,P,M)........yes..................no
ECS axis module  ECSDAxxx (S,P,M)........no....................no     (push-through technique)
ECS axis module  ECSCAxxx (S,P,M)........no....................no     (cold plate)

        IT-network-versions of ECS are included.

Controlling of the heatsink fans of the ECS servo system (supply and axis module):

Condition for switching ON:     (Sensor heatsink > 50 °C)  OR   (Sensor indoor > 50 °C)
Condition for switching OFF:   (Sensor heatsink < 45 °C)  AND  (Sensor indoor < 45 °C)

In case of the ECS supply units due to the integrated brake chopper the heat sink fan is additionally triggered dependent on the braking power.

ON:  The OR-operation for the switch on has been extended for the ECS supply units by the following condition:
                ECSxE012:   Brake power > 18 W
                ECSxE020:   Brake power > 18 W
                ECSxE040:   Brake power > 36 W

OFF: The UND-operation for the switch off has been extended for the ECS supply units by the following condition:
                ECSxE012:   Brake power < 12 W
                ECSxE020:   Brake power < 12 W
                ECSxE040:   Brake power < 24 W

9300:
The types of the 9300 devices fitted with a fan can be taken from the following table:

        Device                      Heatsink fan       Internal fan
       9321, 9322..................no....................no
       9323...........................no....................yes
       9324 - 9326.................yes.................yes
       9327 - 9330.................yes (2x).........yes
       9331 - 9333.................yes (3x).........yes (2x)

Thresholds for controlling of the fans of the 9300 (8200):

        Device                                           ON               OFF                    FAIL
           9321...9325, 8241...8245:.........50 °C           45 °C                  85 °C
           9326...9333, 8221, 8222:.. .......38 °C           35 °C                  85 °C
                               8223...8227:... ......38 °C           35 °C                  85 °C / 90 °C   (internal / heatsink)

The internal fan of the devices 9323 and 9324 is always switched on.
On all units the internal fans are switched on if the DC bus voltage is higher than 600 V. It is switched off again taking temperature into account or if Uzk is smaller than 580 V.
All fans of 9300 are switched off, if voltage falls below the minimum voltage level (Umin threshold) irrespective of temperature, so if there is an external 24V supply the fans will load the external 24V supply.
