Components of the DDS project documentation

Question:

Which components are necessary for complete project documentation?

Answer:

Following components are necessary for complete project documentation:
  • Contents
  • Organisation units (programs, function organisation units, functions)
  • Data types (user-defined data types - array, structure, Enum)
  • Trees of organisation units and data types
  • Visualizations
  • Resources (global variables, control configuration, task configuration, watch- and recipe manager, code digit initialization values, instance parameter manager)
  • Cross reference list
  • Table with the code digits assigned by the parameter manager
  • Used libraries (with date and time for registration of version)

Except the last point the documentation can be created automatically by the development environment Global Drive PLC Developer Studio via menu Project>Document. For the documentation of the 'trees' and the 'cross reference list' the project must be compiled correctly.
