System bus (CAN FIF module), controller enable with internal power source

Question:

What has to be observed when wiring the internal power source for controller enable on the system bus CAN FIF module?

Answer:

Hardware status < 2A

When using the internal power source for controller enable in hardware statuses < 2A (e.g. 1x) of the system bus CAN FIF module, a jumper has to be placed between terminals 20 - 28.

Hardware status >= 2A

As of hardware status 2A a jumper also has to be placed between GND 1 and 2 (terminals 7 - 39) because the two GNDs are not connected to one another internally.

Remark:
Separation of potentials GND1 and GND2 was performed in order to allow zero-potential supply to the system bus with external supply voltage. That avoids any circulating currents in the GND wiring.
