Error -Overtemperatur motor- with motor cold

Question:

Why does the error 'overtemperatur motor' (with 9300:OH3-TRIP) occurs when the KTY sensor is connected and the motor is cold?

Answer:

First of all you should test the KTY. Here are the figures for guidance:
  • 25 °C motor temperature: resistance 1000 ohms
  • 50 °C motor temperature: resistance 1202 ohms
  • 75 °C motor temperature: resistance 1426 ohms
  • 100 °C motor temperature: resistance 1670 ohms

These figures apply to sensor KTY83-110 used in Lenze motors. If the resistance you measure is zero or an infinite value, this would indicate a sensor fault or a connection error.

If you are not using a Lenze motor and measure different levels of resistance, you have the option of adapting the temperature monitoring characteristic at codes C1190, C1191 and C1192. There you can set a linear dependence with two vertices.

You can obtain continuous monitoring via display code C0063. If the motor temperature monitoring is activated, it will display the motor temperature measured by the controller. If the motor temperature monitoring is deactivated, this code will show 0 °C.
