Cable check function activated 0x2C64:1=[1]: Occurring interaction with motor phase failure monitoring leads to torque drop (no change planned)

Removed from:
Servo-Inverter i700, V1:   no implementation planned for V1
Servo-Inverter i700, V2:   (currently no new FW version is planned for i700)

behavior of the new version:
The CableCheck function is now not executed immediately in the described constellation, but only when the inverter is next enabled.
This means that the described unexpected drop in motor torque no longer occurs.

Description of the behavior:
During operation in position,  speed or torque control the motor torque drops unexpectedly under certain conditions.
The reason for this is that incorrectly the function for wiring check (CableCheck) is executed, which in turn is the result of the detection of a supposed motor phase failure.
When particularly dynamic processes occur, this monitoring may be triggered.

Under what conditions does the behavior occur?
  • Motor phase failure monitoring is set to none 'No reaction' or 'Warning'  AND
  • Cable check mode setting 0x2C64:1=[1] 'Cable check after first controller enable or after encoder error'.
  • Affected products:
    Servo-Inverter i700, V1
    Servo-Inverter i700, V2

    Short-term measures / Rating / Recommendations:
    As a short-term workaround, use the setting Cable-Check-Mode 0x2C64:1=[0] or Cable-Check-Mode 0x2C64:1=[2].
