Functional description
In addition to the existing test modes, a new mode 4 ('Current controller optimisation with power pulse current') can also now be selected in code C0398. In this test mode the current pulse is limited to a time of 50 ms when optimising the current controller.
Applications
When optimising the current controller it is not always possible to enable the controller only briefly (e.g. if the controller enable terminal is not available to the user). The 'Current controller optimisation with power pulse current' mode should be activated in order to ensure that the motor is not supplied with too much power when the somewhat slower software controller enable/inhibit (C0002 = 42/41) is being used for control purposes.
