Question:
Which safety functions are implemented in the different 9400 safety modules?

Answer:
The different safety modules of range 9400 contain following safety functions:

  • No safety function, only dummy with wire bridge.
  • Devices of range 9300 can be substituted by devices of range 9400 with SM 0.

SM100 safety module:
  • Safety function 'Safe standstill', protection against re-start.
  • Corresponds to the function safe standstill of range 9300-V004. Thus, these devices can be substituted by the devices of range 9400 with SM 100.

SM301 safety module:
  • STO 'Safe torque off', protection against re-start
  • SS1 'Safe stop 1'
  • SS2 'Safe stop 2' / SOS 'Safe operating stop'
  • SLS 'Safely-limited speed'
  • SMS 'Safe maximum speed'
  • SSM 'Safe speed monitoring'
  • OMS 'Operation mode selector' / ES 'Enable switch'
  • SLI 'Safely-limited increments'
  • SDI 'Safe direction'
  • The modules can be cascaded in order to switch off several drives at the same time.

SM302 safety module:
  • STO 'Safe torque off', protection against re-start
  • SS1 'Safe stop 1'
  • SS2 'Safe stop 2' / SOS 'Safe operating stop'
  • SLS 'Safely-limited speed'

  • SSM 'Safe speed monitoring'
  • OMS 'Operation mode selector' / ES 'Enable switch'
  • SLI 'Safely-limited increments'
  • SDI 'Safe direction'
  • The modules can be cascaded in order to switch off several drives at the same time.
  • RMS 'Repair mode selector' / ES 'Enable switch'
  • SCA 'Safe cam'
