Reset original

Question:
What happens in case of a reset original?

Answer:
All PLC target systems ≥ version 6.x, e. g. Servo PLC V6.5, support the function of the reset original. A reset original can only be executed via the menu Online of the development environment Drive PLC Developer Studio (DDS). Due to the execution of the reset original the PLC target system is reset as follows:
  • The PLC program (user program) is deleted.
  • The PLC target system has no application codes anymore (only system codes).
  • All system codes are reset to default setting values and are saved in a mode protecting against mains failure.
  • All variables are reset to 0, even the variables RETAIN and PERSISTENT protected against mains failure.
  • The application data memory RAM and ROM are deleted.

This means, after a reset original, the motor data, as well as the communication data are to be reset.
