Check sum error during program download does not lead to an error (remedied from B-SW V6.6)
Remedied from:
ECS axis module B-SW V6.6
Behaviour of new version?
Now, an error is generated if the check sum is not correct.
Which products are affected?
ECS axis module B-SW ≤ V6.5
What happens?
If a PLC program is downloaded, the run time system does not indicate an error even though the check sum is incorrect. Thus, the check sum function is not given.
When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if the download of the application is faulty (e. g. due to a faulty memory chip = hardware error) but it does not occur if the download is aborted (e. g. communication error).
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
None.
Evaluation:
The error has been identified in the course of a theoretical program analysis. It has never occurred in practice so far. It can still be assumed that the device also indicates an error in case of a faulty memory chip.
