i950, i750: Absolute encoder EnDat 2.2: The encoder's wire break monitoring is triggered incorrectly on a permanent basis.

Fixed as of:

Servo inverteri950: from V01.15.xx (planned)

Servo inverter i750: from V01.06.xx (planned)

Behavior of the new version:

Operation with EnDat 2.2 encoder as motor feedback0x2C40 = [7] is now alsopossiblefor devices withoutan SD card.

Description of behavior:

i750 and i950 servo converters without SD card:
By default, the motor feedback system a SinCos encoder is set and the encoder wire break monitoring for the SinCos tracks is activated.

If an EnDat-2.2 encoder without SinCos tracks is connected, the activated wire break monitoring will therefore respond. If, in this state, the parameterization is set to 0x2C40 = [7](EnDat 2.2 encoder without SinCos tracks), the pending wire break error message cannot be reset. (EnDat 2.2 encoder without SinCos tracks), the pending wire break error message cannot be reset.

i950 devices with SD cards are not affected because the setting 0x2C40 = [7] can be saved, preventing the above error message from occurring.

Conditions under which the behavior occurs:

  • Use of EnDat 2.2 encoders without SinCos tracks.

Affected products:

i750 servo drive

Servo inverter i950 without SD card

Not affected:i950 with SD card

Short-term measure, recommendations, assessment:

In the event of an error, proceed as follows:

  • Temporarily switch to 0x2C40 = [1] (SinCos encoder) and
  • then switch off the wire break monitoring via 0x2C45.
  • The error message can now be reset.
  • Then switch back to Endat 2.2 Encoder0x2C40 = [7].
This measure must be carried out after each switch-on/boot.
