Decentralised Overhead Control Unit (OCU) for travelling, lifting, gripper and swivel drives, as well as monorail overhead conveyors

The high degree of automation in complete monorail overhead conveyor systems is simply inconceivable without innovative control systems. In rail transportation systems, they are responsible for speed control and contactless control of asynchronous motors. The overhead control unit (OCU) combines the intelligence and power electronics required for this in a rugged housing. The system is designed in such a way that you can also operate multiple motors via a single unit.

Alongside the standard block control of a system PLC, OCU also controls the distance between the vehicles of a monorail overhead conveyor. Parameters can be individually entered. All data relevant for operations, such as destination information, can be exchanged directly via sliding contacts. Inductive data and energy transmissions are also possible. Adjustments to handle future tasks can be implemented at any time by modifying the programming in the open IEC 61131-3 standard.
