Instructional Designer

Qualifications: Masters or bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar relevant field.

Experience: 4-7 years. At lower end of experience, a person may not have all the skills whereas at the higher end of experience, person need to have most of the mandatory skills.

Location: Pune

Mandatory technical skills:

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts and story boarding.
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models (common ones)
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology for technical learnings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Hands on any Online Help creation tools.

Good to have skills:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web technologies
  • Visual design skills (any of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Hands on design of Computer-Based Training CBT, Web-Based Training WBT, Instructor-Led Training ILT, and Blended Learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with subject matter experts and understand the technical requirements
  • Understand the target audience’s training needs.
  • Design of online technical help and User Manuals.
  • Evaluation of the existing documentation, online help contents, Training contents
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations etc).
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.
  • Design a variety of instructional materials for traditional instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids or products, and other programs as needed.
  • Redesign courses for online presentation that are conducive to distance learning programs.
  • Remain aware of all emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best technical learning experience possible.
  • Meet the technical and competency yearly goals.
  • Follow processes & align with optimization activities.
  • Contribute to organization growth by getting involved in various organization related activities.
