Our work environment

International yet familiar

Lenze is an international, family-owned company. The informal atmosphere is what makes Lenze special.

On the one hand, the opportunities of a global firm, and on the other, togetherness.

We network and learn from each other; this is diversity at work at Lenze.

Our staff have been contributing to Lenze's corporate success for more than 75 years. This was reason enough to celebrate our commitment internationally with various overseas initiatives during our anniversary year in 2017: from family celebrations to sporting challenges.

For example, our multinational staff gradually covered an outstanding 287,714 km in support of the Pink Ribbon initiative. This organisation helps to raise awareness of the early detection of breast cancer.

Our employee benefits at a glance:

Work-life balance

There are just as many lifestyles at Lenze as there are Lenze employees. The term work-life balance has a different meaning for each individual. Some focus on the time they can spend with their children or caring for relatives. For other employees, the focus is on leisure activities, travel or sport. We therefore create a working environment that gives our staff the freedom to design their very own work-life balance. Because we understand that family and friends are a valuable part of our employees' lives.

Family and career

Family is important to us!

The balancing act between personal and professional challenges is not an easy one. We therefore attach great importance to creating a family-friendly working environment.

The options we offer vary by country and site in order to meet the local requirements.

At our German sites, for example, we offer:

  • A variety of part-time working options based upon the number of hours worked and scope of duties
  • Working from home, if the role permits
  • A tax-free childcare subsidy of up to EUR 100 per month for a maximum of 12 months
  • A welcome bonus for newborn children of EUR 500 gross
  • Information about suitable care services in the region - in collaboration with local authorities.
  • Contact during parental leave, to attend operational training courses, for example
  • Nationwide consultations and mediation for those experiencing difficulties with child care, in collaboration with Eltern-Service AWO GmbH
Health

At Lenze, we are convinced that health and motivation are the basis for good performance.

That’s why we launched our company health management programme to create a framework within which the organisation of work promotes health and motivation. We help our employees to overcome the rising demands of global competition.

We provide various services, depending on the country. At our Hameln and Extertal sites, these are:

  • Ergonomic workstations

Personal development

Setting milestones. Your development at Lenze.

Your qualifications and expertise are the cornerstone for our joint success. We provide individual support, tailored to your tasks and needs.

An extensive development programme is available, comprising seminars, workshops, training courses and teambuilding. These take place in the Lenze Forum, our Internal Centre for Training, Communication and Information, or in specialist seminars and conventions held by external providers.

Lenze Development Programme

The internal Lenze Development Programme is one element of our personal development offer. It promotes interdisciplinary dialogue, provides international networking opportunities and creates an understanding of the challenges facing other sites.

Over a period of two years, talented and committed Lenzians complete various learning modules and related projects from different divisions of the company, such as strategy, sales & marketing or finance & controlling. The aim is to develop personal skills such as entrepreneurial thinking, the implementation of innovative ideas and strategic knowledge. Regular feedback and coaching enhance self-reflection. Informal discussions with our management team complete the programme.

International reach

The opportunity to operate and network worldwide.

Whether you are seeking a new challenge abroad or enjoy collaborating as part of worldwide interdisciplinary teams: Lenze offers a wide range of options if you are looking for a new challenge. Tackle future issues and tasks in an intercultural project team and actively shape our overseas business.

Overcoming boundaries. Learning from one another.

The Lenze Exchange Programme. The internal exchange programme supports intercultural changes of perspective. It promotes a better understanding of various different requirements and expectations in terms of communication and cooperation. For three to six weeks, employees swap jobs and work on a specific local project, thereby gaining valuable experience with overseas colleagues.

Keeping up-to-date - more sharing, more networking.

Sharing local knowledge is an opportunity to gain valuable experience. International events such as our Automation System Days bring together Lenzians from around the world. The emphasis is on networking and learning. As well as specific industry knowledge, these training courses also cover the digital engineering process and digital challenges. But an ongoing exchange is also part of everyday professional life. Working together across borders to find solutions – technology makes this possible.

#togetherness4more

Innovative working environments

Innovative working environments – achieving more together.

Lenze is breaking new ground with the Mechatronic Competence Campus that we are building at our Extertal site in Germany. This comprises a technical centre, a new automated high-bay warehouse, a new logistics building and new working environments. The main focus is a new way of working together.

The individual disciplines will be located closer together than ever before. This will allow mechanics, electronic and software specialists to share ideas and experience from the very start of a project at their sites and jointly achieve the best solutions. The necessary production processes will be developed in parallel with product development. There will also be showrooms to demonstrate Lenze's problem-solving ability to customers. We aim to use the immediate proximity between technology and production, as well as customer responses, for the rapid transfer of knowledge in a learning factory. The ideal framework conditions for simple, inventive and pioneering work.

The Mechatronic Competence Campus (MCC) as a model.

DOCK ONE – where digital ideas become reality.

DOCK ONE is the joint think tank of Lenze, encoway and logicline. In the future, digitalisation concepts for Industry 4.0 projects will be successfully managed here along with digital business models and products. DOCK ONE continues our positive growth and builds on the benefits of our Bremen site.

Awards

Setting an example for our staff

We repeatedly receive confirmation that Lenze is an attractive place to work. We have again received the "Top Employer Germany" and "Top Employer for Engineers" awards from the independent Top Employers Institute. Our training programme has also received the "Best Place to Learn" award on several occasions. We are extremely proud of this. Of course, not everything is perfect here, but we are constantly working to improve and develop ourselves.

In addition, Lenze is a member of the Fair Company Initiative for interns. Fair Company firms show their commitment to recognised quality standards and verifiable procedures during internships. They are awarded the annual Fair Company seal of approval for this responsible, transparent culture.
