Hameln/Nuremberg, 24. November 2009 --- Drive Solution Designer (DSD)
from Lenze is a powerful configuration tool for designing the best mechatronic
drive solution quickly and efficiently. Whether you are looking to achieve a
rough or detailed design, select the right products, check feasibility or
optimise your solution, the software incorporates easy-to-use functions that
help you to deal with tasks speedily and achieve high quality results in the
development of new machines.
Intelligent drive concepts are not only good for the environment but also
result in a sustainable reduction of costs – costs that begin in the early
planning and engineering phase. With its preselection of drive tasks that are
typical for many machine applications, DSD facilitates the work that has to be
done in this highly specialised context. It is based on a solid foundation of
knowledge that relates to drive applications and electro-mechanical components
and has been tried and tested. This knowledge is provided in such a way that
the customer can make use of it interactively. DSD offers a many features for
describing a wide range of machine applications. These include belt drives,
spindles, rack and pinion assemblies, wheel drives, conveyor belts, hoists,
synchronous drives, pumps and more. Each description of an application is
rounded off by the option of entering the motion task, i.e. the speed profile,
in the software.
DSD makes it possible to individually adapt the mechanical and electrical
drive structure to the requirements of the machine in question. In order to
ensure that motors, gearboxes and inverters perfectly match each other and
fulfil the requirements of the machine in question, the complete drive system
is checked on the basis of the torque-speed characteristic in addition to
testing of the thermal and maximum load.
What is especially helpful is that the software enables the generation of
diverse solution concepts with different drive technologies and products. The
user can pick out the best solution from a range of suggestions that are
presented clearly and comprehensibly. A special feature is the energy
efficiency analysis integrated in DSD. Thanks to the "Energy Performance
Certificate Drive Solution", the user is made aware of the potential for
cost reductions and energy savings as early as the planning stage and can
exploit this potential to maximum effect.
In combination with DSD, the electronic Drive Solution Catalogue (DSC)
supports the engineering and design of drive components by providing CAD data,
macros for eplan and product catalogues in pdf format. The selected products
are listed in the shopping basket of the DSC, allowing a price enquiry via
e-mail with just a few clicks.
