App for calculating drive systems
Lenze's "small collection of formulae" now available as an app for Android phones, iOS phones and tablet PCs
Hamelin. Lenze's "small collection of formulae" package, which has proven very popular among engineers, drive manufacturers and trainers, is now available as a free of charge app. The new "Lenze Formulae and Tables" app is an easy-to-use reference and calculation application for performing basic physical calculations. It offers the formulae and tables necessary for this, as well as an integrated calculator. As such, it provides owners of smartphones and tablet PCs with a compact tool that they can use to design drive systems at any time and any location. The free-of-charge software is available for both the Android and iOS operating systems and is easy to install in just a few steps via Google Play or the Apple Store.
The app provides a user-friendly environment that offers basic formulae from the fields of kinematics, dynamics, force and torque, as well as work, output, energy and control technology. Users can perform many different calculations, ranging from the description of straight-line and circular movements, all the way up to determining control characteristics. The app makes it possible to calculate the data and values of a dimensioned drive solution in advance using a mobile device without the need for a PC, a printed collection of formulae or any expensive software solutions. It also allows users to re-use the results of calculations for further analyses or share them with other people. The integrated note function also provides an option to draft notes and other information and then save these together with the results of the calculations, while the built-in bookmark function makes it easier to retrieve important information at a later date. The tool is available in German and English, making it suitable for international use.
In the version now available, "Lenze Formulae and Tables" already covers Chapter 2 (Basic Principles) of the printed version of Lenze's "small collection of formulae" and Lenze is planning to extend the tool further. You can find further information for download on the Lenze website.
