Jörg Fuhrmann, Lenze's new MD in Austria

Experienced industrial expert assumes management of Lenze Austria with responsibility for sales in Austria and Eastern Europe

On 1 November 2016 Jörg Fuhrmann was appointed new managing director of Lenze Austria Holding GmbH, headquartered in Asten, Austria. The company controls sales and logistics for Lenze Group in the Central and Eastern Europe region. At the same time, the qualified engineer took the helm of the Austrian sales company Lenze Antriebstechnik GmbH. The engineering expert possesses extensive market know-how and long-standing international experience in the automation sector. Fuhrmann's key appointment emphasises the market focus of Lenze, the Motion Centric Automation specialist and points the way ahead to further expansion of its automation business.

Christian Wendler, chairman of the Lenze Group Executive Board, is impressed by the new appointee: "In engaging the services of Jörg Fuhrmann, Lenze gains a qualified automation specialist and experienced engineering expert. His experience and expertise will guarantee expansion of our market share in Austria and Eastern Europe, markets that are very important to Lenze".

The 39 year old made his first official appearance on behalf of Lenze last week at Europe's leading electric automation trade fair, the SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg . "The fair went extremely well for us. One of the main talking points was of course, Industry 4.0. As technology partner to our customers we not only supply the right technology in this area, but also master the increasing complexity of the technology and machinery with our smart solutions. An aspect greatly appreciated by medium-size machine builders. Our visitor figures were accordingly very high and we enjoyed some excellent discussions."

Before joining Lenze Fuhrmann headed ENGEL Automation Systems at Engel Austria GmbH with responsibility for the company's sites worldwide. The qualified mechanical engineer graduated in 2004 from Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. Prior to joining Engel in 2007, he worked for three years as head of development and design at Hahn Automation GmbH, where he gained valuable experience in handling and assembly techniques for the automotive industry.

Lenze Austria was founded in Kristein in 1971. Today the subsidiary of the global player and Motion Centric Automation specialist employs 270 people in 11 countries. Lenze supports its machinery and plant building customers throughout all phases of the development process to machine operation - from the initial concept to after sales service.
